ARCHDIOCESE OF PHILADELPHIA TO HOLD ONE-DAY INSTITUTE
ON OPEN ADOPTION WITH SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN
ON OPEN ADOPTION WITH SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN
Catholic Charities USA, in cooperation with Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, will hold a One-Day Institute on Open Adoption with Special Needs Children. The Institute will focus on building bonds between the adoptive and birth families.

The One-Day Institute will examine how to attend to the mental health needs of vulnerable children as they move from the foster care system into adoptive homes. Topics at the One-Day Institute will include:
*Adoption professional conviction - a central ingredient for successful implementation.
*Training considerations for professionals.
*Maximizing birth family involvement.
*Keeping siblings together/in contact.
*Recruiting and supporting adoptive families.
The price of the One-Day Institute is $65 for Catholic Charities Individual members, and $85 for non-members.
