KICK-OFF CELEBRATION
Anthony Cardinal Bevilacqua, Archbishop of Philadelphia, will be on hand to kick-off the 1999 Catholic Charities Appeal on

Entertainment will be provided by the popular Villanova Gospel Ensemble. On hand to celebrate with the Cardinal will be: Bishop Robert P. Maginnis, General Chairman of the Appeal;
Mr. And Mrs. Paul E. Kelly, Jr., 1999 Special Gifts Committee Chaircouple; and many parishioners and friends.
For more than forty years, the Catholic Charities Appeal of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia has reached out to those who need help the most — the poor, the handicapped, the sick and the hungry. Today, the programs and services funded by the Appeal are growing to meet the demands of the new millennium. Since 1958, the Appeal has raised $235 million to assist men, women and children in the five-county Archdiocese regardless of race or religion. Its programs provide services to more than 250,000 people annually.
