ORIENTATION CONFERENCES


Anthony Cardinal Bevilacqua, Archbishop of Philadelphia, will deliver the welcome addresses at two orientation conferences focusing on the Cardinal's Pastoral Letter "Healing Racism Through Faith and Truth" which was issued on January 6, 1998. The conferences will be held on

The introductory address will be given by Father John Pfannenstiel, OFM, Cap. on October 2, 1999. Father John has been a Capuchin priest for 17 years working primarily with the urban poor of Washington, D.C.

Ms. Maria Luisa Gaston will give the introductory address on October 9, 1999. Ms. Gaston came with her family to the United States as an exile from her homeland of Cuba. An educator by profession, Ms. Gaston is currently Director of Hispanic Ministry for the Paulist National Catholic Evangelization Association.

There will also be panel discussions and orientation to the document.
