Sixteen Catholic Youth Organization grade school basketball teams (8 boys teams, 8 girls teams) will participate in the John Redmond Memorial Basketball Tournament on
November 26 and 27, 1999
9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Girard College Gym
Corinthian and Girard Avenues
Philadelphia, Pa.
Tickets are available at the door and all proceeds will benefit the Catholic Youth Organization. John Redmond was a Philadelphia firefighter who lost his life in a church fire in South Philadelphia in January, 1994. He was very active in youth ministry and coached CYO Boys Varsity for many years.
On Friday, November 26th, games are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. On Saturday, November 27th, semi-final games will begin at 10 a.m The boys championship game will be held at 12:30 p.m. and the girls championship game at 1:45 p.m.
Participating boys teams are: St. Matthew, St. Rose of Lima, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, St. Helena, and St. Francis de Sales, all from Philadelphia; and, St. Ignatius, Yardley; St. Agnes, West Chester; and St. Laurence, Upper Darby.
The girls teams are: St. Matthew, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, St. Martin of Tours, St. Helena, and Immaculate Heart of Mary, all from Philadelphia; and, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Doylestown; St. Bede, Holland; an
St. Anastasia, Newtown Square.
