An Outdoor Summer Overnight Youth Rally Centering on Peace

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia Office for Youth and Young Adults is sponsoring its largest Catholic youth rally ever!! An incredibly exciting event, featuring 5 great bands, barbecues, hot air balloon rides, fireworks, amazing prayer under the stars, and Mass with Cardinal Bevilacqua! A crowd of approximately 2,000 teens is expected to join in the festivities at

Gwynedd-Mercy College
Gwynedd Valley, Pa.


The theme of the rally is "Let it begin with me. . . " as all activity and prayer will center around the challenge and pledge to become peacemakers in the world today. A Peace Park will be open from Saturday, July 22, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Attendees are invited to bring creative displays and activities that demonstrate "peace."

The schedule is a follows:

Saturday, July 22, 2000

4:00 p.m. Arrival at Gwyedd-Mercy College - Music on main stage - Peace Park opens (Ribbon-cutting) - Hot air balloon rides

5:00 p.m. Welcome/Blessing of the Groungd- VIP tent opens - Dinner

8:00 p.m. Peace Park closes and performances begin. Taking the stage will be: Steve Angrisano (a well recognized musician, composer, storyteller known for his unique presentations to youth groups), and other performers: Angela Crimi, Ceili Rain, Knowdaverbes

10:45 p.m. Fireworks

11:00 p.m. Amazing Prayer under the stars

1:00 a.m. Main stage/general programming ends
