ARCHDIOCESE TO HOST MASS FOR REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION DELEGATES
The Archdiocese of Philadelphia invites delegates to the Republican National Convention and their guests to attend a special Mass as the Convention begins in Philadelphia. This will be a valuable opportunity for Catholic delegates to observe and reflect upon their faith as they begin the important work of the convention.

The celebrant of the Mass is Reverend Monsignor John A. Close, Pastor of the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. Delegates will participate in the Mass by reading from Scripture and presenting the gifts of bread and wine.
Mr. Vito Canuso, the Chairman of the Philadelphia Republican City Committee helped to facilitate the Mass in conjunction with the Archdiocese Office for Public Affairs. The Honorable Thomas Melady, PhD, Chairman of the Catholic Task Force of the Republican National Committee and former United States Ambassador to the Vatican, also helped to organize the mass.
