Charles Gibbs, an eighteen year old neighborhood block leader from West Philadelphia, will be the keynote speaker. The program includes various workshops in aiding the elderly, children, handicapped people, and the poor.
The day will also include the election of Community Service Corps officers, a Mass, dinner and a dance. The Mass will be at 5:00 p.m. Father Thomas Higgins, Director of the Office for Youth and Young Adults, will be the celebrant.
The Community Service Corps is a program of the Archdiocesan Office for Youth and Young Adults, geared to high school students. CSC encourages and coordinates volunteer services throughout the community and involves hundreds of Philadelphia area teens.
