CARDINAL RIGALI TO ORDAIN FIVE MEN TO THE PRIESTHOOD
Cardinal Justin Rigali, Archbishop of Philadelphia, will ordain five men to the priesthood on
Procession 9:45 a.m.
Mass 10:00 a.m.
Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul
18th Street and Benjamin Franklin Parkway
Philadelphia
Ordination will take place during the Mass, following the homily. At the end of May, each of the newly ordained priests will be assigned to a parish in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia where they will serve as parochial vicars. A parochial vicar is a priest appointed by the Cardinal to assist the pastor of a parish.
Those being ordained are: Rev. Mr. Armand D. Garcia, Rev. Mr. Richard K. McFadden Jr., Rev. Mr. Augustus C. Puleo, Rev. Mr. Bernard J. Taglianetti and Rev. Mr. Robert C. Yetman. All have completed studies at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood.
The average age of the class of 2005 is 34. Three of the five being ordained are from the Norristown area, one from Cherry Hill, NJ and one a native of the Philippines. Rev. Mr. Taglianetti worked as a computer programmer and Rev. Mr. Puleo was a university-level Spanish professor. Rev. Mr. Garcia earned a college degree in Manila, Philippines, before moving to Havertown. Rev. Mr. McFadden and Rev. Mr. Yetman are products of Catholic education, graduating from Kennedy-Kenrick High School in Norristown and Paul VI High School in Haddonfield, NJ, respectively.
