TO 37TH ANNUAL MARCH FOR LIFE IN NATION'S CAPITAL
Cardinal Justin Rigali, Archbishop of Philadelphia, will lead thousands of people from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. on Friday, January 22, 2010. This date marks the 37th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision in 1973 that legalized abortion. Joining Cardinal Rigali will be the four Auxiliary Bishops of Philadelphia; priests; deacons; men and women religious; seminarians from Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, students and parishioners.
Cardinal Rigali will concelebrate the Vigil for Life Mass with principal celebrant and homilist Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, Chairman, USCCB Pro-Life Committee, the night before the March.

*** For Media Coverage of Bus Departures from Philadelphia: Students and staff from Roman Catholic High School for Boys will depart for Washington, D.C. on Friday, January 23, 2010 at 7:45 a.m. from the corner of Vine and Broad Streets. Students and faculty from Saints John Neumann and Maria Goretti Catholic High School will depart between 7:30 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. from the Acme Markets parking lot at 10th Street and Passyunk Avenue, South Philadelphia. Students and staff from Archbishop Ryan High School will depart from the school between 6:30 a.m. and 6:45 a.m.
Buses transporting more than 100 Seminarians will depart Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary at 5:45 a.m. Many other parish and school departure sites from throughout the Archdiocese can be provided upon request.***
Cardinal Rigali also will be the celebrant and homilist at the Mass for Philadelphians the morning of the March.

The special Mass will precede the Rally for Life which begins at noon at the National Mall. The faithful of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will meet at noon at Constitution Avenue and 6th Street in front of the National Gallery of Art and process behind the Archdiocese of Philadelphia banner, which will be carried by Seminarians from Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary. The March for Life is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
