BRIEFING SESSION
FOR SOLEMN FUNERAL MASS FOR CARDINAL JOHN P. FOLEY
The Solemn Funeral Mass for Cardinal John P. Foley will take place Friday, December 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.
Most Reverend Edwin F. O'Brien, Archbishop of Baltimore, and Grand Master of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, will be the principal celebrant for the Mass. Most Reverend Timothy M. Dolan, Archbishop of New York and President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, will be the homilist.
The Office for Communications will offer a walk-through for media planning to cover the Funeral Mass for Cardinal Foley Thursday, December 15th at 10:30 a.m. in the Cathedral. Photographers, reporters, editors, and producers are welcome.
Please note: no parking will be available in the Cathedral lot for the briefing session.

-Seating space inside the Cathedral has been reserved for media but is very limited. Archdiocesan Communications staff will assist media.
-An audio/video mult-box clean feed is available in the Cathedral parking lot with multiple BNC video and XLR mic/lines. TV crews will need a live truck or recording device.
-Live truck parking will be on a reserved basis with one space per news outlet.
-A satellite feed will be available and coordinates will be provided upon request.
-The Procession and Mass will be streamed lived at www.archphila.org. Coordinates for embedding the Flash video live stream are available upon request.

Editor's Note: Media are also welcome to cover events at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary on Thursday, December 15, 2011. A schedule of those events is below. No live streaming or audio/video feeds will be available at the Seminary, but cameras and reporters are welcome at all events. Cameras will be stationed in the choir loft of the chapel for the Mass there that evening. Archdiocesan Communications staff will be available to provide assistance.

Schedule:
9:00 a.m.: Transfer of the Body in the main lobby of Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary. Reception of the Body followed by Midmorning Prayer in the Chapel of Saint Martin of Tours.
Following Midmorning Prayer Cardinal Foley's body will lie in state for public viewing in the Chapel of Saint Martin of Tours.
7:00 p.m.: Mass celebrated by Most Reverend Daniel E. Thomas, Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia. Following Mass the Chapel will be closed.
